Rabbit Behaviors

Kennel Protective (KP)

May become territorial when reaching into its kennel (e.g. biting, charging, and grunting).

line

Thumper (THP)

When entering the room or opening the kennel door this animal will stomp/thump their foot down to make a loud noise. Rabbits thump their hind feet to signal danger. Rabbits aren't very vocal so thumping is their way of communicating.

line

Door Dasher (DD)

May try to exit the kennel the moment you open the kennel door. May push nose into the door and try to force it open. May not wait for you to secure them and could escape.

line

Boxer (BOXR)

May be protective of their kennel and when you try to enter it they will come up to you and hit you with their front legs like they are boxing with you.

line

Track Runner (TR)

When entering the kennel he/she may run away from you. In most cases they may run in a circle around the perimeter of the kennel like it is at a track meet.

line

Hard to Re-Kennel (H2RK)

When trying to place back into its kennel he/she may become difficult to handle and resist going back into the kennel.
